The
Coddington Guest House lies in the city of Ithaca nestled between
Cornell University and Ithaca College campuses, right on the border
of the IC campus (you can’t get any closer) and less than a
mile from CU campus. From our perch on South Hill, our panoramic view
is one of the best in the area. We overlook the area, with breathtaking
views of Cayuga Lake and all of its shorelines and waterfront areas,
Cornell, and the city.
We are very close to two major parks and waterfalls,
Treman (a.k.a.Enfield) and Buttermilk Falls, less than a mile from
the downtown Commons, major shopping and the Farmers Market, and
10 minutes from Taughannock State Park! A family restaurant and
convenience store lie a few feet away, as does a recreational walking
and biking trail through a gorge.
Two multiple - bed family suites are convenient for
the additional persons in your party, and a smaller suite for singles
or couples has a private entrance to porch swing. All bedrooms have
views of Cayuga Lake. Each suite is in a separate wing of the house,
offering privacy from other suites. Children are warmly welcomed.
Wireless internet allows for work stays as well as pleasure. TV
and bedroom A/C in all suites with kitchen and/or refrigerators
in most.
Our décor is eclectic and folksy, with
the ambience of a beach cottage and breakfast bistro. The house
was built in 1850 as a train station and was home to a large Italian
clan throughout the 20th century. The Coddington Guest pays tribute
to that family via suite names, and has been a home away from home
for visitors to Ithaca since 2001. We hope you enjoy your stay with
us.
